Music Around Austin: Lookbook No. 8

ree

We had a couple of shows from before Hot Summer Nights that absolutely needed to be seen, plus some from over the weekend. Enjoy!

Live in Austin, Texas. All photographs were taken and belong to Steve Hughes.

Nashville’s The Dreaded Laramie delivered shiny, heartfelt power pop with enough kick to rattle the Chess Club ceiling.

Telethon turned their “powerpoppunkrockwhatever” mantra into a sweaty, genre-blurring sermon on joy and noise.

Austin’s very own horror band, The Immortalz conjured chaos with monster masks, wild riffs and a taste for the theatrical.

Dallas “fun rock” outfit Love Sick Drug brought the party to Kick Butt Coffee, chasing hooks with big grins and bigger volume.

PIXIEPUNK hit the Vinyl stage with fizzy rage, fearless outfits, and songs that felt like shouted journal entries.
